For two years following the opening of my first fitness center, life was going great, to the point where I opened a second location and was working on launching the third. I loved owning and operating the fitness centers.
I was living a much healthier lifestyle, eating more nutritious foods and exercising on a regular basis.
Then I got news a mother never wants to hear.
I discovered my then 18-year-old daughter had an eating disorder.
I was crushed. How could this be?
When I looked at her, all I saw was a beautiful young woman who had so much going for her.
Why couldn’t she see what I saw? How could she hate her body?
As reality sunk in, my childhood memories came rushing back …
… the struggle with my own weight and being made fun of for being the “fat kid.”
I grew up watching the women in my life grapple with their weight. In fact, I even remember having weight-loss competitions with my mother, grandmother, and older cousin when I was just 10 years old.
My heart sank every time I stepped onto the scale. Worrying about my weight and dieting became a normal way of life.
What had I taught my daughter about food, dieting, and body image?
I could clearly see the generational patterns. I had become accustomed to this way of living, but now that I could see the effects it had on my daughter, I knew it had to stop.
This way of life was no longer acceptable, and I made the decision to find the solution.
My sole focus was on helping my daughter.
I didn’t know it at the time, but as I embarked on a mission to heal my daughter, it became my healing journey for ME.
And it completely transformed my life, revealing a deeper purpose within me.
With renewed focus, I started exploring ideas outside of the “normal” diet and fitness avenues. I was looking for real change—to truly heal the underlying cause of excess weight. Not just for me, but for all women who struggle with their weight.
During this exploration, I discovered yoga and went on to become a yoga instructor. What I experienced during that training opened my eyes to a whole new world, and I wanted to learn so much more.
I dug in. Over the next seven years, I invested well over $100,000 in trainings, certifications, workshops, and programs to find a permanent and healthy solution to weight loss.
My greatest gift during this journey was finding out who I really am… finding my true self.
Throughout the process, I had to confront many hidden aspects of myself, including the parts of me that I believed were “too much” and unwelcome by others.
As a child, my desires and opinions were suppressed.
I asked too many questions. I was too loud.
I was just too much.
I felt I wasn’t good enough, so I learned to be what others wanted and expected.
Up until this point, I’d been living in a way that was out of alignment with my true self.
And that’s why I had been so angry and sad.
No one could see me, not the real me.
I couldn’t even see myself.
…Not until I healed those parts of myself and discovered the real ME.
The me that is lovable.
The me that is important.
The me that is more than enough.
My passion is helping women to experience the same thing, to discover their worth and start loving themselves again. I now specialize in helping women achieve their healthy ideal weight by identifying the subconscious beliefs that have created the excess weight.
Meet Jen. We had three sessions from February through April 2022.
Before working together, Jen was body shaming, yo-yo dieting, and putting everyone else first. By the age of 4, she had learned to comfort herself with food. By her late teens, she had developed anorexia and bulimia.
During our sessions, we released trapped emotions of fear, not being good enough, low self-worth, and shame. I created a custom self-hypnosis recording following each session to embed new specific healthy beliefs in place of the unhealthy beliefs we had released.
As a result of working with me, Jen is now honoring and loving her body. She is honoring herself and what she chooses to put into her body. Now, Jen is proud of herself for all that she’s accomplished.
In 16 months, Jen has easily dropped 89 pounds of excess weight and is now active. She is less than 10 pounds away from her original goal weight.
Hear more of Jen’s story, directly from her, in this video, taken 11 months into her journey.
